Dear Graduate and Alumni of the National Institute of Transport
Dear former student, National Institute of Transport celebrates 40 years since commencing its activities back in 1975. A grand Open Week celebration will bring together high profile and prominent alumnus serving in public and private sectors.
NIT was established as a training wing of National Transport Corporation (NTC) and later re-established through the NIT Act No 24 of 1982 as an Autonomous Institute of Higher Learning under the then Ministry of Communication and Works, currently NIT is under Ministry of Transport, with the aim of offering Education and Training, Research and Consultancy Services in Transport, Communication and allied sectors. Currently NIT offers more than 35 programs ranging from Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor, Postgraduate Diploma and Master's degree, with over 3500 students. Anyone who graduated from the National Institute of Transport, is automatically an alumnus, and has a stake in the affairs of the Institute.
NIT Alumni Online ("Service") is owned by National Institute of Transport. It is an online community intended to bring together former students, keep them informed about Institute developments and involve them in dialogues about various challenges facing transport and allied sectors meanwhile promote and enhance communication of a personal nature between former students.
